Percy Irausquin showed his Spring/Summer prêt-a-porter collection, Collection PRC, titled 'Full Bloom'.

The former industrial machine room had been transformed into a setting more suited to a Sex and the City girl's-only night, bursting with large flower arrangements and the air hung heavy with perfume. Single red roses and free copies of a Dutch celebrity gossip mag had been handed out to the (largely female, 30+) audience, while Doris Day played on repeat as the audience took their seats '"When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother what would I be...".

Irausquin is known for his sexy, feminine dresses and his second ready-to-wear collection saw the designer stick with what he does best. The collection was romantic and feminine, full of chiffon and silk, with the colour palette switching between brights fuschia, dark blue and pastel lilac, yellow and mint green. The flower theme was reinforced in the colours, with only a couple of beachwear items featuring flower prints themselves. As well as silk shorts, elegant skirts, chiffon dresses, the show ended with a series of long gowns and a wedding dress.

This is Irausquin's second ready-to-wear collection, "it was a challenge to design for a large public, as usually I focus on one person, the couture customer. But at the same time it was my most exciting challenge so far", the designer said. The focus of this collection is on sexiness and femininity, plus easy pieces that manage to inspire women who may be standing despondently before their wardrobe not knowing what to wear. "I also have that problem, and I always take the wrong items with me on holiday. Then I regret that I didn't take this or that item with me. So, I've made a collection of items that can be easily combined." Who is his ready-to-wear collection for? According to Irausquin, his ideal woman is "sophisticated, independent, striking, creative and tough. Her cosmopolitan, dynamic environmnet is important to her and her style reflects her personality". For her "fashion is a means to express her feminine side."

The collection will be in the shops from next year with prices ranging from 159-479 euro. Judging from the rapturous reaction from the AIFW audience there are plenty of princesses out there ready to be dressed by Prince Percy.
