DDD - A New Way To Navigate a City
Rietveld graduate Stefanija Najdovska plans to have as many Walkits as possible around Amsterdam during Dutch Design Double. The palm-sized navigational gadget puts the analogue back in city travel allowing users to be spontaneous without getting lost.

Why Open Design?
While using open source methods in software circles is commonplace, in design, it's not quite so open. It's still a relatively foreign concept for designers to, well, openly share their knowledge/creativity and the blueprints of their designs. So what's in it for the designer?
Fabrication Laboratory
The exhibition FULL PRINTE3D showcases innovations in 3D digital fabrication technologies including Dutch contributions of the first fully rapid manufactured shoe, a 3D printed dress and printed necklace based around ball-joints.
Upbeat but underwhelming
Despite its most impressive program to date and a healthy increase in sales, the content of this year's Design Miami/ Basel was slightly underwhelming - even with 40,000 bees in attendance.
DMY 2010 highlights
Highlights from this year's DMY Design Festival, which was held in the former Tempelhof airport, included experimental materials from Temporary Collective Arnhem and the elegant centerpieces of DMY Award winners Daphna Issacs and Laurens Manders.
