Viktor & Rolf bewitch de Bijenkorf
Straight out of their newly launched fairy tale book, Viktor & Rolf have put their enchanting touch to department store de Bijenkorf's Christmas gift collection and window displays.
This year's Christmas collection for Dutch department store de Bijenkorf has been designed by Viktor & Rolf.
The popular fashion duo has created a festive gift collection with a fairy tale spin, comprising various objects from gift boxes to tableware to christmas ornaments to a special Moleskine notebook. Central to the collection is an enchanting book of fairy tales written and illustrated by the duo.
Alongside the gift collection, Viktor & Rolf extended the fairy tale atmosphere to the instore visual merchandising and window displays (pictured here are windows from Amsterdam). Depicting scenes from their fairy tale book, the window displays appear as pages of a large flip book, complete with self-typing type writer and cut outs of characters. A subtle palette of black, white and grey used for the decor and collection, combined with luxurious satins, glitter and pearls, suggests a classic feel. A special piece appears in one of the windows: a dress from their 'Silver' collection of Autumn/Winter 2006/2007 which was inspired by Dutch tradition of silver plating a baby's first shoe as a keepsake.
Meanwhile Viktor & Rolf's predecessor Marcel Wanders who designed last year's Christmas collection for de Bijenjkorf has designed a holiday range for American department store Target comprising christmas ornaments and various home wares.
