The 'G-star RAW Talent Award', comprising a cash prize of €10.000,-. was presented by Remco de Nijs, PR manager and collection stylist at G-Star RAW. Additionaly, Sanne Schepers is invited to participate in G-Star RAW's international catwalk presentation in Berlin.

Sanne Schepers' collection is based on the principle of a twinset - a two-in-one outfit which is strengthened when worn together. Schepers developed an innovative design concept wherein one item of clothing can be worn in four different ways. Minimalist silhouettes give way to Schepers' precise design vision. Handfinished details and bold colour choices give the collection an extra dimension.

The winner was chosen by a varied group of fashion professionals and an internationally renowned panel. This year the panel was made up of professor Shelley Fox (Parsons, NYC), stylist Catherine Baba (Vogue, Chanel, Balmain), Romain Brau and Anna Kushnerova (founders of the Antwerp fashion shop RA13) and designer Michael van der Ham.

Shelley Fox: "I was impressed by the individuality of each designer." Catherine Baba was surprised by the strong play of proportion and finish.  Romain Brau and Anna Kushnerova: "We keep looking for craziness, something we can easily find in the Dutch use of colour and adherence to cultural roots."
Michael van der Ham advised the designer to stay true to themselves and to explore their own signature.

Lichting is the fashion industry prize that is awarder to the most promising fashion graduate of the Netherlands. The concept is simple: the biggest talents of the 7 Dutch fashion academies are presented to the critical fashion press and industry during one central catwalk show.

Lichting is an initiative of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week, HTNK fashion recruitment & consultancy, Premsela, the Netherlands Institute for Design and Fashion in collaboration with G-Star RAW.
