The prestigious Salone del Mobile design and furniture fair takes place in Milan 16-21 April 2008. Over the coming weeks we'll take a look at some of the designers and their work showing at this year's exhibition.

Michou-nanon de Bruijn: The warm fridge

'A warm fridge-seat which belongs to the open kitchen/living area. A retrospective of the kitchen and its use. The tubes which are normally on the back of the refrigerator, lose their warmth underneath a seat. Waste heat is used to create a traditional comfort.'

Marly Gommans: Cat's in style!

'Currently there is more and more attention being given to interior design. People are choosy with regard to planning their house and coordinate it as much as possible. The current products developed for pets have lagged behind in their design and don't suit your own design style. However, for instance if you have a cat, then it will need a number of accessories, a scratching pole, a cushion and a litter tray. Cat's in style! has been designed with practicality in mind, but above all it adds something positive to your interior.'
