This week on Design.nl, awards season is still in full swing as we reveal the shortlist for the Designs of the Year Awards 2014. Among the nominees are four Dutch projects including the UN Delegates’ lounge and Fairphone by Bas van Abel. Nominated for the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Award is young creative Hellen van Rees for her a/w 2014 collection featuring constructivist/grunge elements. Lucas Maassen revisits his design performance seen last year during Dutch Design Week. "The Sitcom" casts inanimate objects in roles usually assumed by actual live actors. Also this week we see how travel can spur a burst of creativity as we talk with The Jaunt founder Jeroen Smeets.
