This week on Design.nl we speak with two recent Design Academy Eindhoven graduates whose projects straddle the art/design demarcation. In both cases the design focus becomes mostly about using communication for social effect. We take a trip to Cologne where Dutch designers Pepe Heykoop, Jacob de Baan and many more are presenting new products at imm. Also this week we take a look at H&M Design Award 2013 nominee Thom Barends and congratulate Amsterdam-based designer Satyendra Pakhalé on his NRI award. We hear from DAE graduate Theo Brandwijk whose ingenious new toilet design is in early talks for production. And there is also PullOver, a clever albeit dramatic way to create more usability in public spaces.
