Occurring alongside the Art Basel fairs in Miami, USA each December and Basel, Switzerland each June, Design Miami/ has become the premier venue for collecting, exhibiting, discussing and creating collectible design.

Design Miami/ is more than a marketplace for collectible design, where the world’s top galleries gather to present museum-quality exhibitions of 20th and 21st century furniture, lighting and objets d’art. Each show balances exclusive commercial opportunities with progressive cultural programming, creating exciting collaborations with designers and design institutions, panels and lectures with luminaries from the worlds of design, architecture, art and fashion, and unique commissions from the world’s top emerging and established designers and architects.

Among the Dutch participants this year are Priveekollektie,  Formafantasma for Fendi and the Personal Content show by Christoph Sagel and Matylda Krzykowski.

During the week of Art Basel from 12–16 June, the exhibition 'Confrontations: Contemporary Dutch Design' will open in the Vitra Design Museum Gallery. Five young Dutch designers will join a partner from the region around Basel in developing an object or installation that will be completed within the framework of a performance on the grounds of the museum. The unusual pairings will serve to mobilize new design resources: the Eindhoven-based design duo Formafantasma will develop objects in collaboration with Doris Wicki, the only female charburner in Switzerland; the designer Wieki Somers will create objects made of chocolate together with the confectioner Raphael Mutter from Freiburg.

For another chance to see Another Terra visit Depot Basel which describes itself as "bringing together a range of contemporary cultures to create an impressive set of references around craft and scenography – some of them are visually pleasing, some of them are collectable". Furthermore, Depot Basel offers performances, exhibitions, talks and much more during Art Basel.
