Connecting Dutch designers in Milan
For the second year running, the magazine Connecting the Dots will provide an overview of all the Dutch designers presenting in Milan during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile and the FuoriSalone. This year, the festivities kick off on 12 April and run until 17 April 2011.
The magazine will be distributed free of charge at all Dutch exhibitions and key design locations in Milan. Alongside a guide to the Dutch presentations - including ofcourse an essential cocktail guide - the magazine incorporates articles centering on the Dutch design industry. Features include an interview with cultural entrepreneur Diana Krabbendam, a comparison of the three Dutch technical universities - TU Eindhoven, UT Twente, TU Delft - with regards to sustainability, an article highlighting Dutch designers working abroad in all corners of the globe and a photo reportage by Roos Kroes in continuation of last year's series, depicting Dutch designers behind-the-scenes. Designers featured include BCXSY, Dirk van der Kooij, Frederik Roije, Ghyzcy, Ineke Hans, Kranen/Gille, Piet Hein Eek, Yuya Ushida & Wijtse Rodenburg and more. Last but not least, a restaurant guide will provide a local's perspective on dining in Milan. Design.nl will be publishing excerpts from the magazine in the lead up to the event so stay tuned for more.
The magazine will be designed once again by Koehorst in ‘t Veld. Connecting the Dots is an initiative of Tuttobene and is commissioned by the EVD, agency of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
