Amsterdam International Fashion Week preview
Following on from the summer edition held on the Museumplein in Amsterdam, the AIFW returns to the Westergasfabriek for the winter edition on 19-27 January.
There will be a mix of international top names and ambitious breakthrough talent. Some of the names showing at this edition include Antoine Peters, Blue Blood, Bibi van der Velden, Brillant, Collectie Arnhem, Django/Project Catwalk, Daite by Tessa Koops, Daryl van Wouw, Emily Hermans, EAH!, EèD by Eva and Delia, Fashion Institute Arnhem, Haruco~Vert, Individuals by Amfi, Iris van Herpen, Jan Taminiau, Jessica Joyce, Joline Jolink, LEW, Maartje Dijkstra, Marlies Dekkers, Oilily, Replay, Sherida Augustin and SuperTrash.
Events
As well as the catwalkshows and trade fairs Modefabriek and Showroom (20-21 January), there will be a number of fashion events taking place, such as OFFschedule (19/1), Prelude from the Dutch Fashion Foundation (22/1), the Elle Style Awards and La Vie en Rose – Salon de Lingerie (27/1). The official Fashion Week party will be held on Saturday 26 January.
Downtown!
The official show programme is only open by invitation, but the Downtown programme is open to the general public. The programme starts on 19 January with various events throughout the city, including exhibitions (Foam, Studio Apart and Art Olive), shows, a 'vintage' route, parties, a store window display competition and launches.
